Brief Bio

Professor Min Xue is the PI of the Feed Processing Innovation Team of the Institute of Feed Research, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences, and in charge of the Lab of National Feed Safety Evaluation Center. The team mainly focuses on the study of the feed processing and feeding technology; the regulation and standards in efficacy and tolerance test of feed and feeds additives in aquatic target animals; alternative protein and lipids; start feeding and larval fish nutrition. The principal investigator of the WP3 in the National Key Research and Development Program or China (“Blue Granary”). The group had published more than 160 publications in international and local language journals, and she is working as the reviewer of more than ten International Journals. The team has organized the 1st-5th International Feed Processing Symposium (2016-2020), with world-wide cooperation on the Fish Nutrition and Processing Technology.

IFR, CAAS is a national research institute focus on animal nutrition and feed sciences, which was founded in 1991 in Beijing with location at CAAS campus. IFR is famous as an Institute of the basic and application research on animal nutrition and feed sciences, feed resource development, new feed and feed additive investigation, feed processing technology and quality control, green animal products and production technology, feed product quality and safety testing technology, training and education for feed industry. IFR plays an important role in livestock and aquatic animal production. Professor Min Xue is the PI of the Feed Processing Innovation Team of the Institute of Feed Research, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences, and in charge of the Lab of National Feed Safety Evaluation Center.

I am interest in the studies of:

The feed processing and feeding technology. A physio-chemical properties database of feed ingredients (protein and starch sources) has been worked out and serviced as a software (Precise feed processing system). Based on the database, we are also working on carbon footprint assessment for animal feed enterprise.

The chairperson for the guidelines in efficacy and tolerance test of feed and feeds additives in aquatic target animals. The registered feed additives include lutein, TBHQ, bile acids, etc. in the feed additive list of MOARA.

Alternative protein and lipids. We mainly focus on the feed intake and nutrient metabolism regulation when fed with high alternative proteins from plant, insects and microbes.

Start feeding and larval fish nutrition. The nutrient requirement and processing technology in micro-diet of larval fish.
