Chief Scientist of the Pet Nutrition and Food Innovation Team at the Institute of Feed Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Director of Sino-Euro Joint Lab on Feed Mycotoxin Detoxification Technology; Secretary-General of Subcommittee 2 on Pet Food of National Technical Committee 76 on Feed Industry of Standardization Administration of China(SAC/TC76/SC2); Deputy Secretary-General of National Technical Committee on Companion Animal(Pet) of Standardization Administration of China; Vice President of the Pet Industry Branch of the China Animal Agriculture Association, and Vice President of the Pet Feed (Food) Branch of the China Feed Industry Association.

He has been engaged in the field of pet nutrition research since 2008, with main research directions including: pet nutrition and health, pet intestinal flora and immunity, pet food technology and quality safety, effectiveness evaluation of pet food functional claims, pet food palatability and flavor substances, research and development of functional pet food (such as expression of allergen epitopes for cat allergies), prescription diets, functional diets and nutritional health products, research and formulation of pet feed standards, and pet economy and industry development strategies. He has long been engaged in research on feed mycotoxin pollution and prevention, including the establishment of an "in vivo Biomarkers + in vitro evaluation system for the effectiveness of feed mycotoxin detoxifier products"; isolation and identification of feed mycotoxin detoxifying bacteria, and high-efficiency expression of detoxifying enzyme genes.

He has presided over more than 40 scientific research projects of various types, including the Intergovernmental International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Special Project of the "13th Five-Year National Key R&D Program" of the Ministry of Science and Technology (Project No.: 2016YFE0113300) entitled "Cooperative Research on Key Technologies for Biological Detoxification of Feed Mycotoxins between China and the EU", the China-EU Horizon 2020 Project (Project No.: 678012) entitled "Safe Food and Feed Through Toolbox for Mycotoxin Management", a sub-project of the National Key R&D Program's Key Special Project for Research and Application of Common Technologies in National Quality Infrastructure (Project No.: 2016YEF0201802) entitled "Research on Quality Control and Evaluation Technology for Extruded Pet Feed Production", sub-projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' "Early Warning and Monitoring of Agricultural Product Quality Safety" (entitled "Early Warning and Monitoring of Quality and Safety of Feed Detoxifier Products and Specifications for Product Effectiveness Evaluation" and "Investigation on the Development Status of the Pet Feed Industry and Formulation of Quality and Safety Norms"), as well as projects funded by the China Scholarship Council and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation. He has published 6 monographs and 1 edited book; as the first author or corresponding author, he has published more than 70 papers in journals such as Toxins, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Acta Veterinaria et Zootechnica Sinica and Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition; he has obtained more than 10 authorized invention patents. He participated in the drafting of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' "Measures for the Administration of Pet Feed", and took the lead in formulating agricultural industry standards such as "Technical Specifications for Production Quality Control of Extruded Solid Pet (Dog and Cat) Feed", "Freeze-Dried Pet Food", " Feed Raw Material Chicken Liver meal" and "In Vitro Effectiveness Evaluation Method for Feed Mycotoxin Adsorbents". He has won 2 provincial and ministerial-level awards and the title of "Advanced Individual in Poverty Alleviation of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences" in 2018.
